Moments of Japan is a hardcover photo book presenting a collection of unposed street photography from Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka and beyond.

Spanning 160 pages in A4 portrait format, it features over 80 photographs arranged into six thematic chapters, each introduced with titles in both Japanese and English.

From lantern-lit streets and fleeting motion to solitary figures and silence, the book reveals a reflective glimpse into Japan’s nightscape.

ABOUT ME

I’m Chris, a UK-based designer and street photographer.

I’ve visited Japan three times now, and each trip deepened my fascination with its atmosphere after dark. There's something about the balance of stillness, movement, and light that continues to draw me back.

Moments of Japan brings those experiences together in a carefully curated book that reflects my love of photography and the beauty of Japan's streets at night.
